Emergency Exit

Last Friday, I went to see the play Emergency Exit. It consisted of two one-act plays that were very different from one another. The first act, Fire Exit, was about the events after a fire broke out at a high school. Told through monologues, Fire Exit was engrossing and quite moving. The cast was wonderful. It was simplistic, yet complex at the same time.

The second act, Lockdown, was different to Fire Exit in that it featured more interactions between the cast. Lockdown, which followed a group of students in a school on lockdown, was suspenseful. Because the play was a black box production, I and everyone else in the audience felt as if we were in the room ourselves. We were all on the edge of our seats.

*Tell me if you went and tell me what you thought of it!
